Welcome to my website.  I'm Paul Cromford, or at least that's “a name I call myself”.  My real name is given in the copyright information at the foot of each page.

In my time (all sixty-five years of it come April 2024), I've:-

  • written, performed and recorded songs;
  • composed instrumental music;
  • drawn & painted;
  • scribbled all manner of text.

I also used the Inexplicable Lockdown Years as an opportunity to try my hand at writing and recording sketches for several series of audio magazine programmes.  Here they all are.

My current project is 'The Ancient Pull', a cycle of twenty-three songs for solo guitar and voice, concerning our age-old relationship with the Moon.  Shortlisted for a New Writing award at the 2019 Buxton Festival Fringe, it's been revised, expanded, and is currently scheduled to be performed beneath Luke Jerram's Museum of the Moon installation at St Giles the Abbot church in Cheadle, Staffordshire, on 26th March.... its first performance in nearly five years.  More information here.

This website has gone through many changes over the years, and a massive overhaul is well overdue.  Reconstruction will happen gradually, over the next few months; meanwhile the page you're now reading is 'it' for the time being.
